To help celebrate the listing of Crowny on AscendEX, the AscendEX team sat down for an AMA with Crowny’s CEO Quincy Daglet and COO Marcus Vlems to gain more insight into the project’s success and strategy for the future.

Cool, as usual, can you briefly describe Crowny, and what problems your team aims to solve?

With Crowny, we connect and reward users for engaging with their favorite brands, ensuring brands reach the right target audience, while protecting users’ privacy. Users receive relevant content and offers based on their preferences, allowing them to earn $CRWNY and loyalty points. So the main problems we are solving for are privacy issues, waste (of money), and that ads are annoying and not relevant at all.

Cool, if you do not mind, could you elaborate on the CRWNY token function within the platform as well?

So we have two kinds of token programs.

1. Loyalty points (built on Solana) and Crowny tokens $CRWNY (ERC20 first). The utility offered by the loyalty points will largely be determined by the brands themselves (they determine the value of the points themselves).

2. The utility for $CRWNY will be staking at first, but we will add other things such as governance features in the near future. Once on Solana, they will be used by advertisers to reward users.

With the recent partnership announcement between Crowny and AscendEX, could you provide more details to our community on what it means for users?

Yes, we would love to! AscendEX will use the Crowny loyalty system to reward their users. Rewards could be issued for trading, signing up, inviting friends or sharing news; anything is possible! We will make our API available to AscendEX to enable a seamless user experience for the AscendEX community. Furthermore, we will explore options on integrating our loyalty systems not only for AscendEX, but also for listing projects on AscendEX. We will also contribute to AscendEX’s online presence and help with their rebranding from BitMax to AscendEX, featuring their new ticker symbol $ASD.

Can you please elaborate on how the loyalty system works on your platform? What are some incentives that users can expect in the future?

Marcus Vlems | Crowny

Loyalty points that are collected by users are distributed by companies that offer loyalty programs. The rewards for redeeming the tokens are determined by the company and could be anything, like a second burger for half the price or a free cup of coffee.

In addition to what Marcus mentioned above, we are exploring additional incentives in the form of tokens from different projects, special fee rates for trading and other exciting ideas that could be distributed to users.

What is the value add for the advertisers? What differentiates you from some of the competitors that are doing something similar?

Loyalty points are bound to the loyalty program holder. The advertisers on the other hand, can reach out to users that have shown interest through their preferences. This combined with the rewards results in more engaged consumers for the advertiser.

So how does it work? We offer several mechanisms that a brand can utilize to enhance the effectiveness and/or interaction. These mechanisms include: QR-codes, Geofences, and Push-notifications. These mechanisms are described in more detail in our whitepaper. Users using the Crowny app can be rewarded in either loyalty points from the brand and $CRWNY. The reward that a user receives for interacting with the content will always contain $CRWNY tokens with a set minimum. The minimum is set in a fiat currency and we will convert this minimum to $CRWNY the moment the users will be eligible for the reward. As easy as that!

What else are you working on, from the tech side, to make sure you can quickly scale the blockchain?

We have been working a lot on the infrastructure of the company, creating a better scalable dev stack, an example would be that we are migrating towards figma for our whole design system which will increase the development speed internally and provide a more friendly UI/UX experience. Besides that, we are speaking with numerous potential clients and are aiming to start the migration to Solana the earlier the better, but more about that will follow early Q3.

Do you have any operational data you could share with us today? What is the current user base?

Over 7000+ users signed up already with us prior to releasing the app. We expect this number to increase significantly once we start our marketing campaigns in the next couple of weeks.

In addition to the AscendEX partnership, do you have any other partnerships in the pipeline that you could share with us?

Yes. We are speaking to multiple companies and expect this to be one of our main goals we are focusing on in June.

Cool. What unique experience does your team bring to the table that puts Crowny in a position to be successful?

Marcus Vlems | Crowny

We have a team with a proven track record within the tech, media and marketing sectors. On top of that, we have advisors with a very diverse background in both crypto and outside of it. Right now we are also in the process of expanding our team with additional talent.

For the non-crypto crowd are there going to be efforts to pull them into this space or is it your vision to keep the crypto aspect under the hood making the fiat-crypto use/exchange frictionless to them?

First, we will focus on the crypto adoption since that’s the niche we are focusing on. Later on, we will shift our focus towards adoption in general, all based on data, whether it’s Asia, Europe or the US. We aren’t aiming for new investors. We are aiming for new users and brands to adopt our app, loyalty system, and marketing mechanisms.

Can you indicate a feature or features that you like best about the platform making it competitive with other similar projects? What are you most confident about for your platform? Do you have plans to get users to choose your platform?

It is the functionality that makes the users engage with their brands, and when we add new features in the future, they will integrate and make the platform even stronger. Solana is my personal favorite since it increases the transaction speed and lowers costs which are requirements to make our platform even more successful!

The loyalty points are very suitable for both big brands as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. Instead of just focusing on the users, we focus more towards the B2B who bring in a significant amount of users. Brands can use our whole loyalty system for free, while the upsell is in the advertising platform by creating campaigns.

In the field of crypto, it’s very hard for projects to generate revenue/profits. Some projects have a 10% dev share (10% from transaction fees taken by the project). Can you explain to us how your project creates revenue/profits?

Crowny is a marketing platform, existing largely outside the crypto-world. The earnings come from advertisers that have difficulty finding their customers. These advertisers will find their audience through the Crowny platform.
